Brooke Alexander
Brooke Alexander is a full-time vanlifer and world traveler who is as comfortable in the great outdoors as she is in a big city. Her motto is, “Find the comfort in discomfort.”
While living in several urban areas around the US, including Columbus, Phoenix, Chicago, and NYC, Brooke traveled as much as possible, always dreaming of a career with the opportunity to travel full-time. In 2015, she traveled to Iceland, rented a mini-campervan, and realized she was meant to live on the road.
It took a couple of years to find the right rig, but Brooke jumped full force into van life in her 2018 Ram Promaster in October 2020 and hasn’t looked back. She’s renovated her campervan alongside her dad and friends twice and finally has a dialed-in setup.
Though she’s traveled up and down both the East and West Coasts and all over in between, the Tetons remain the place that draws her back and over and over again.
Brooke started living in a van with her senior dog and went on to adopt a puppy (Totopo aka Topo) off the street two weeks into a 3-month trip through Baja California Sur, Mexico. As a solo female vanlifer, she can’t imagine living on the road without a canine adventurer.
While she travels a bit slower than the pace she started out at, Brooke is still enamored with life on the road. She loves finding hidden gems like local coffee shops, breweries, and farmers’ markets in random tiny towns just as much as densely populated cities.
Brooke enjoys cooking for others and shares her favorite recipes with those she meets on the road. Chances are if you’ve camped with her, she’s offered you a cheeseboard or her famous tortilla soup!
On her Instagram account, @pettyprinethepromaster, Brooke shares her van life experiences, cute pictures of Totopo, and the incredible views from her van.
