11 Accessories You’ll Definitely Want for Your RV Adventure
Going on an RV trip? Here are some accessories you won’t want to live without
If you’ve landed here, you must be getting ready to join the RV life adventure. Whether for one week or a year, RVing is a fantastic way to get out and explore the great outdoors.
However, it can also be surprisingly difficult because there are many things you must consider and remember to live off-grid in a small space successfully. Luckily, RV life is made better thanks to various RV accessories.
Many things make RVing easier and more fun, from space heaters and portable showers to neat gadgets and stylish decorations. Here are 11 of the best!
Table of Contents
1. Keyless RV Lock
More often than not, small things make a big difference in RV life. For example, a keyless RV lock might not make a huge difference, but it does make things easier.
This type of lock switches out a traditional mechanical lock with a keyless entry lock you open using a PIN code or fingerprint. This makes getting into your RV much easier and offers more security.
Most keyless RV locks allow users to create their PIN code to choose a memorable number they won’t forget.
2. Portable Shower
If your RV doesn’t have a built-in shower, we strongly recommend purchasing a portable one. Buying a portable shower for when we go away camping was one of the best decisions we ever made.
You don’t fully appreciate how luxurious it is to be able to shower until you don’t have access to one, which happens a lot off-grid. Therefore, keeping a portable shower in your RV allows you to wash whenever possible.
These types of showers usually feature a hose, a showerhead, and a water container. The water is pumped or pressurized through the hose to provide a consistent flow. Many pump showers are also solar so that you can get hot water.
3. Space Heater
If you plan to live full-time in your RV, you will sometimes feel cold, especially in the winter. Luckily, a small space heater is all it takes to warm up your RV quickly.
Admittedly, space heaters can take up some space and get in the way, but their warmth is worth it. When buying a space heater, we recommend opting for a smaller device.
It’ll provide enough heat for your RV and won’t take up too much space. We also recommend buying a heater with specific safety features, including an overheating feature. A reliable choice would be the Lasko Oscillating Digital Tower Heater.
4. RV Cupboard Bar
One of the best purchases we’ve ever made is an RV cupboard bar. This handy gadget is an excellent addition to any RV kitchen. It brilliantly keeps your food from slipping and sliding everywhere while driving your RV.
It’s super easy to set up. Place the spring-loaded bar inside your cupboards, closets, and RV refrigerator. We’ve even used our cupboard bars to keep books in place on our bookshelf.
RV cupboard bars are available in single and double sizes, so you should be able to find the right style for your RV.
5. Pressure Cooker
Invest in a pressure cooker if you enjoy making food in your RV but want to take your camper cooking game to the next level. Pressure cookers are incredibly versatile in what they can be used for and slice huge chunks of cooking time.
We own a pressure cooker and use it all the time to make delicious stews and soups. If we’re feeling naughty, we sometimes use it to make cakes. Other things you can make using a pressure cooker include bread, mac and cheese, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious ribs.
6. Outdoor Fire Pit
Nothing epitomizes camping more than a good old-fashioned fire pit. But if you’re new to the RV world, setting up a campfire can take time and effort. Luckily, many portable outdoor fire pits on the market make life easier.
Take the Outland Living 870, for example. This compact fire pit is small enough to fit in your RV and has a cover and carry kit. It lets you quickly start a fire using a matchless auto ignition and provides a clean, smokeless flame.
In no time, you’ll find yourself sitting around the fire making S’mores and roasting marshmallows.
7. RV Water Sensors
RV water sensors, like the Govee Wi-Fi Water Sensors Alarm System, are invaluable for protecting your RV from water damage. Water leaks are one of the worst things that can happen in RV life.
Water can cause extensive damage in a short period and is often hard to spot before it’s too late. However, you can avoid severe damage by using water sensors. Simply connect the sensors to your phone via Wi-Fi, place them throughout your RV, and let the sensors do their job.
The sensors will notify you immediately if they detect water where it shouldn’t be.
8. GoPro
Most people film their RV adventures on their smartphones. While this is perfectly acceptable, using a GoPro is more fun. A GoPro is a small HD camera that captures crystal-clear, high-intensity activity footage.
Admittedly, your phone can do the same, but you probably wouldn’t want to use your phone in the same scenarios. For example, do you want to carry your phone while racing through a muddy forest on a mountain bike or skiing down a slope? We doubt it!
Conveniently, GoPro’s can be clipped to your body or helmet, so you can film your adventures without knowing the camera’s there.
9. Portable Speaker
A portable speaker is perfect for sitting by the fire with friends or family, eating good food, telling stories, and enjoying a few beers. You can create an entertaining atmosphere, have fun, and listen to your favorite music while enjoying the outdoors.
The beauty of this accessory is that it comes in many shapes and sizes, from a miniature speaker that fits in your pockets to a monster speaker that sits on your countertop. The choice is yours.
However, we recommend picking up a smaller speaker like the JBL GO 3. This speaker easily fits in your pocket and still offers high-quality sound.
10. Mini Projector And Screen
Before we bought a mini projector and screen, we would sit uncomfortably in bed while one of us held our laptop or tablet with our favorite TV show playing. Now, we can lie comfortably in bed or outside by the fire while our mini projector does all the hard work.
Arguably the coolest accessory on this list, a mini-projector and screen allow you to take a personal theater on your RV adventure. Set up the screen and place the projector to stream your favorite shows.
Then, just sit back, relax, and enjoy an RV cinema experience.
11. Stick-On Anywhere Portable Lights
The final accessories on our list are stick-on anywhere portable lights. Cubbyholes and cabinets inside an RV can get super dark, especially at night and in the mornings. Stick-on-anywhere portable lights, like those from Star-Spangled, can bring much-needed light into your RV.
These lights automatically sense human movement and turn on when needed. You don’t have to place them in your cupboards, either. You could also put them in your bathroom and above the sink to bring more light to a dark kitchen or toilet.
When you’re done, the lights will shut off until you need them again.
That concludes our list of the best accessories that make RV life easier and more fun. The items we’ve listed will help make your RV experience much more enjoyable and hassle-free. So, what are you waiting for? Why not pick up a few things on our list for your next RV adventure?
