Specs

  • Dry Weight: 1,500 pounds
  • Length: 13’
  • Cargo Carrying Capacity: 700-800 pounds
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 12 gallons
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 3

All Scamp campers are lightweight and easily towed. Their aerodynamic, vintage exteriors have shot them up the ranks of popularity.

The 13’ camper, the smallest of their fleet, fits their most-loved features into a tiny frame, making it one of the best ultra-lightweight travel trailers under 2,000 pounds.

The two main layouts of the standard 13’ Scamp are mostly the same, with a kitchenette, a closet, and a large convertible dinette/sleeping area. The front parts of these layouts differ with the buyer’s choice between a wet bath or a couch that converts into single bunk beds.

The 13’ Scamp Deluxe is available in three floorplans. Layout B includes a front wet bath with a toilet and a shower. Layouts A and C are very similar, substituting a convertible dinette with storage underneath in place of the wet bath.

Overall, the Scamp is a great 2,000-pound camper for travelers wanting a classic camper at a slightly smaller scale.

Optional upgrades for the E-Lounge include a microwave, an air conditioner, an exterior shower, and a front window with a curtain. It comes with two 100-watt solar panels, a 200-amp battery, and a 2,000-watt inverter for improved battery recharging.

When you tour the Timberleaf Classic Teardrop camper, it’s impossible not to notice the retro-inspired styling details in the exterior rear galley, such as aluminum edging and leather handles, that bring rustic charm to your cook space.

Because it doesn’t include a bath or shower option, it’s better suited for campground stays where facilities are available. However, you could pick up a portable cassette toilet and upgrade to an outdoor shower like the RoadShower for improved off-grid camping with the Timberleaf.

With an aerodynamic, teardrop shape, this 2,000-pound camper can go anywhere you want to take it without draining your fuel efficiency.

Your article “11ultra lightweight travel trailers under 2,000 pounds” was very interesting. The 2000 lbs, are you using Dry Weight or GVWR? I have a Grand Caravan and my max GVWR is 3600 lbs.

  7. Why did you not mention the Trailmarker trailer made in NY state ? It’s under 2000 lbs and has a queen size bed and a 6 foot interior height, with LITERALLY tons of storage. Not to mention that they are built like tanks, in a good way, they will last your lifetime. You can’t go wrong.
